Schools make academic progress when leaders are close to the teaching and learning practices. Discovery Walks provide leadership teams with a framework to ascertain vital information about instructional trends across classrooms. This non-evaluative program engages the school in a focused cycle of improvement led by an experienced and highly successful leadership coach. The coach works one-on-one with school leaders to recommend and implement professional development strategies that strengthen teaching and learning outcomes based upon classroom observations. Since 2006, more than 250 Louisiana schools have increased achievement as a result of SLC Discovery Walks.
