Colleagues & Friends,

I thought today – in the middle of testing – a light Monday Message is warranted. So maybe looking at what we do every day in the form of quotes and thoughts would be light and on target at the same time.

Let’s start with the word Education. It is derived from different words. Latin word ‘E’ and ‘Duco’ means to draw out of the inner qualities of the child. Similarly, ‘educare’ means to bring up and draw out the qualities of a child to make a complete man.

Gandhi – By education I mean an all-round drawing out of the best in man – body, mind and spirit.

Aristotle– Education is the creation of sound mind in a sound body.

Rousseau– Education is the child’s development from within.

Einstein – Education is what remains after one has forgotten what one has learned in school.

Roosevelt – The school is the last expenditure upon which America should be willing to economize.

Anon – An educational system isn’t worth a great deal if it teaches young people how to make a living but doesn’t teach them how to make a life.

Everett – Education is a better safeguard of liberty than a standing army.

Victor Hugo – He who opens a school door, closes a prison.

Aristotle – Education is an ornament in prosperity and a refuge in adversity.

Frost – Education is the ability to listen to almost anything without losing your temper or your self-confidence.

Aristotle – It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.

Ariel – Education is the transmission of civilization.

Einstein – Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.

Bill Cosby – I don’t know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody.

B.T. Washington – Few things help an individual more than to place responsibility upon him and let him know that you trust him.

Buckminster Fuller – There is nothing in a caterpillar that tells you it’s going to be a butterfly.

Chinese proverb – If you are planning for a year, sow rice; if you are planning for a decade, plant trees; if you are planning for a lifetime, educate people.

Pete Seeger – Education is when you read the find print; experience is what you get when you don’t.

The past, present and future walked into a bar…it was tense.

Hope those brought a couple of thoughts and a smile.

Be Well, Do Good Work, & Keep In Touch,

Brian
