Dr. Everett J. Williams
Everett J. Williams is the former Superintendent of New Orleans Public Schools; a Young Leadership Center Role Model; Secretary/Treasurer and former Chair, Xavier University Board of Trustees; Director, Southeastern Louisiana University, Foundation Board; Board member, Baptist Community Ministries; and author of numerous works including Crescent City Schools: Public Education in New Orleans, 1841-1991. After graduating from Xavier University, Dr. Williams completed his Ph.D. in Michigan. He is a current member of the School Leadership Center's Board of Directors and a former chairman. 
Annually SLC recognizes an individual who have contributed to improving education throughout the Greater New Orleans area. The recipiant is recognized at the 'Jazzed' Celebration and receives the 'Dr. Everett J. Williams Award', named after the first receipient.
